Hays Tabernacle CME Marks 70th Year

Hays Tabernacle Christian Methodist Episcopal Church observed their 70th Church Anniversary on Nov. 19, in their edifice located at 10121 S. Central Ave., in Los Angeles. Hundreds of people joined Pastor Mark Hardin and his congregation for the celebration, which included a fellowship dinner and powerful preaching by the Rev. Dr. James E. Markham, pastor of Emmanuel Temple CME Church in Victorville. Markham, a pastor for more than 35 years, is well known for his ministry that emphasizes spiritual and church growth through the power of prayer.

Local Ministries Plan Good Friday and Resurrection Day Services

Several churches and organizations in the Los Angeles area will hold Good Friday and Easter Sunday worship services to commemorate the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. The following list highlights the activities of some of the sponsoring ministries who invite the public to attend. People’s Independent Church of Christ Bishop Craig A. Worsham and his congregation will host Good Friday worship on April 14, at 12 p.m. The Rev. Dr. E.V. Hill II will preach. Also, services are set for 6:30 a.m., 9:30 a.m. and 11 a.m., on Resurrection Sunday. A fellowship breakfast will be held at 8 a.m.

Hays Tabernacle hosts CME Annual Conference

The Southern California Region Annual Conference of the Christian Methodist Episcopal (CME) Church will be held Sunday, August 9, through Wednesday, August 12, at Hays Tabernacle C.M.E. Church, 105121 South Central Avenue in Los Angeles. Bishop Bobby R. Best, presiding prelate of the Ninth Episcopal District, will oversee all activities of the conference. The host is the Rev. Mark Hardin, pastor of Hays Tabernacle C.M.E. and presiding elder of the Los Angeles District.   The co-host is the Rev. John D.
