Delivering the financial document to the City Council on April 20, the mayor indicated his top interests include addressing the homelessness crisis, investing in small businesses, upgrading opportunities for young people and improving the quality of life for many Angelenos by implementing a guaranteed basic income pilot program.
A protest was held outside Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti’s official residence today for the eighth consecutive day in an attempt to persuade President-elect Joe Biden not to appoint Garcetti to his cabinet.
There are new adjustments to the working sector that the mayor outlined, the mayor noted that four out of ten people already lost their jobs this year. Garcetti stated, “ With limited federal support, and the County Public Health Department new orders about outdoor dining, the city must step up to provide relief to restaurants, so tonight I can announce the launch of Secure emergency relief for vulnerable employees.” This fund is open to a plethora of eateries including wineries and food trucks.

County Supervisor Mark Ridley-Thomas to encourage passage of Measure M, the Nov. 8 ballot initiative calling for a half-cent countywide sales tax to fund transit and road projects and improvements in the Los Angeles metropolitan area.
