“While I was one of the first few to arrive in this space as a Black man, he continued, “I’ve always felt like I’ve been at the forefront of these movements and these waves in the entertainment business, and I’m glad I did enough to create space for so many other people to walk and thrive in it.”
He says the secret to managing the expectations of his clients during those daunting periods is transparency, clarity, and trust. Dobbins feels those elements are key to displaying integrity to his clients.
True to its then reputation as one of the wildest Black events of the year, Williams says there were women raising their shirts up, some individuals were walking around with reptiles, and others were having sex in public places.
On behalf of Bakewell Media and the L.A. Sentinel, six outstanding women will be honored at the “Power, Leadership and Influence of the Black Woman” event on Saturday, April 13, at the Fairmont Century Plaza.
