Thirty years ago, on April 29 to May 4, 1992, the streets of South Los Angeles were on fire – literally and figuratively – with both structures and tempers flaring due to the acquittal of four White LAPD officers charged with the horrific beating of Black motorist Rodney King.
These were the appointments in local and national offices in 2020.
Taylor will be in charge of Community Build’s daily operations, including managing a staff of 68 in two separate locations, the administrative offices in Leimert Park and the Youth and Community Center. She will be responsible for ensuring each department and individual employee has the resources and support needed to operate CBI’s services and programs as well as CBI’s hundreds of client. In addition, Taylor will also work to define the role and responsibilities for the permanent chief operations officer position.
In her new role as chief equity officer, Shockley looks to build bridges that allocate resources and leverage within city hiring, promotion, and construct a solid platform for meaningful change.
