On 30th Anniversary, Los Angeles Reviews Impact of 1992 Civil Unrest  

Thirty years ago, on April 29 to May 4, 1992, the streets of South Los Angeles were on fire – literally and figuratively – with both structures and tempers flaring due to the acquittal of four White LAPD officers charged with the horrific beating of Black motorist Rodney King. 

COMMUNITY BUILD, INC. ANNOUNCES TARA TAYLOR AS INTERIM CHIEF OPERATIONS OFFICER

Taylor will be in charge of Community Build’s daily operations, including managing a staff of 68 in two separate locations, the administrative offices in Leimert Park and the Youth and Community Center.  She will be responsible for ensuring each department and individual employee has the resources and support needed to operate CBI’s services and programs as well as CBI’s hundreds of client.  In addition, Taylor will also work to define the role and responsibilities for the permanent chief operations officer position.

LAHSA Ad Hoc Committee Holds A Follow-Up Hearing to Discuss Black People Experiencing Homelessness and Ways to End the Epidemic

The panel discussion was open to the public and moderated by Mary Lee, committee chair Jacqueline Waggoner, and vice-chair Kelli Bernard.
