Mercedes-Benz USA (MBUSA) and the African American Film Critics Association (AAFCA), the premiere organization of African-American film media professionals, celebrated diversity with an Academy Awards viewing party on Feb. 28 at the Four Seasons Hotel in Beverly Hills.
Bill Cosby sued supermodel Beverly Johnson for defamation on Monday, calling her a liar over her claims that the comedian drugged and attempted to sexually assault her in the 1980s.
Beverly Johnson rose to fame in August of 1974 when she made history as the first African-American to grace on the cover of Vogue magazine. The multi-talented supermodel/actress/businesswoman/author has enjoyed an enduring career which has included writing several books and starring in her own reality-TV series, “Beverly’s Full House.”
Black models have contributed greatly to the industry even though it hasn’t been an easy road.
