L.A. County Begins Program to Combat Acts of Hate

  Responding to what officials called increased acts of hate in recent years, most notably against Asian-Americans due to the coronavirus pandemic, Los Angeles County today announced a campaign aimed at encouraging reporting of such incidents and responding to them. 

Senators Harris and Booker Lead Historic Passage of Federal Anti-Lynching Legislation 

Last week, December 19, 2018, U.S. Senators Kamala D. Harris (D-CA) and Cory Booker (D-NJ) took to the Senate floor on to ask for unanimous consent to pass the bipartisan Justice for Victims of Lynching Act of 2018, historic legislation that would criminalize lynching, attempts to lynch, and conspiracy to lynch for the first time in American history.
