The UCLA women’s basketball team started their journey towards earning a spot in the March Madness tournament Thursday in Las Vegas by defeating 22nd-ranked Utah 67-57. The game was physical on the offensive and defensive side of the ball with both teams making plays.
Behind a season-high 31 points from Charisma Osborne, UCLA defeated Oregon State, 74-66, in the quarterfinals of the WNIT. The Bruins will play at South Dakota State in next week’s semifinal on Thursday, Mar. 31 at 7pm CT.
The Lady Bruins beat Pepperdine in a tough game 78-69, although there many good signs of their greatness, Head Coach Cori Close was not satisfied. Close was disappointed that her team showed lack of energy in the first half.
This UCLA Women’s team is holding each other to high standards throughout this process and will focus on championship reps. They have a lot to be excited about with this new roster, but Close strives for them to be winners on and off the court.
