Judge Hears Arguments in Lawsuit Over Los Angeles County Seal

A federal judge heard arguments last Friday but made no decision in a legal flap over the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors’ decision last year to add a cross over the San Gabriel Mission on the county’s official seal. A civil rights group sued the Board of Supervisors in February 2014, challenging the constitutionality of the panel’s decision to restore the cross nearly 10 years after legal wrangling prompted its removal from the county seal.
