On Friday, September 2, Council President Nury Martinez showed her off her political skills and navigated the complexities of the Los Angeles City Council as she delivered on her promise and her commitment to the residents of the 10th Council District by bringing home the votes required to give residents the “Voice and Vote” they had been lacking for more than 200 days.

Judge Issues Temporary Restraining Order Against Herb Wesson Appointment
A Superior Court judge on Tuesday, July 19, again blocked Herb Wesson from acting as a temporary replacement for suspended Los Angeles City Councilman Mark Ridley-Thomas, once again leaving the 10th District without a council representative.

California Attorney General Rob Bonta has re-opened the possibility of a lawsuit filed by Mark Ridley-Thomas supporters to sue over the selection of Herb Wesson as a temporary member of the Los Angeles City Council, throwing the status of Los Angeles’ 10th Council District back into question.

Herb Wesson Appointed to Temporarily Represent 10th District
The Los Angeles City Council voted unanimously today to appoint former Councilman Herb Wesson to represent the city’s 10th district, as a replacement for Councilman Mark Ridley-Thomas, who was suspended after being indicted in a federal corruption case.

L.A. Council President Emeritus Herb Wesson Hosts Diaper Grab-and-Go
Los Angeles City Council President Emeritus Herb J. Wesson Jr. and Good Plus Foundation hosted a diaper grab-and-go for last Saturday morning at his district office in West Adams. Diapers were given to families in need during the COVID-19 pandemic. Priority was given to families in the 10th Council District but no families were excluded and cars were lined up down the block and around the corner before the event even started.

L.A. Council President Emeritus Herb Wesson To Hold Free Diaper Grab-and-Go Saturday
Los Angeles City Council President Emeritus Herb J. Wesson Jr. and Good Plus Foundation will host a diaper grab-and-go for 10th Council District residents on Saturday morning from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. at his district office in Koreatown. Diapers will be given to families in need during the COVID-19 pandemic. Priority will be given to families in the 10th Council District but no families are excluded from applying. Limited quantities and sizes available. All families must sign-up online at herbwesson.com/diapers. No walk-ups will be permitted.
