T.R.U.S.T. South LA has been awarded a $2 million grant administered by the Joint Office of Energy and Transportation through the U.S. Department of Energy’s Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy.
The funded project, “South LA Takes Charge,” will address the urgent need for equitable, community-driven electric mobility solutions in South LA, which has been disproportionately impacted by systemic disinvestment and some of the highest air pollution levels in the nation.
Over the next several years, T.R.U.S.T. South LA and its diverse coalition of partners will develop dozens of e-mobility hubs throughout the region, ensuring residents have access to zero-emission transportation options and empowering local communities to take charge of their environmental future. The organization stated, “Transitioning to zero-emission transportation options in South LA can improve local air quality, reducing the community’s vulnerability to the health impacts of wildfire smoke and other pollutants.”
