Smith & Sons of Jericho, a traditional gospel group formed just prior to the pandemic, has endured, and garnered several awards over the past four years by trusting God’s will for their ministry.
Now, the talented ensemble of vocalists and musicians will hold their 1st Anniversary Concert on Sunday, April 21, at 4:30 p.m., at Mount Pilgrim Cathedral, located at 400 S. Santa Fe Avenue in Compton. Bishop R.D. Sanders is the host pastor.

Special guests performing at the concert include Elder Michael Boone of North Carolina, Bilbo Rogers of Arkansas, Rohn Reborn of Atlanta, and Unified based in Los Angeles. In addition, attendees will enjoy a range of selections by Smith & Sons of Jericho.
The group members, led by Dr. Anthony Smith, consist of Jason Dees, music director, songwriter, and producer; J. “Mr. Jazz” Brown, vocalist, songwriter, and producer; Lewis “Tee” Woods, vocalist; Andrew “Lil Jazz” Brown, bassist; James “Knar” Townsend, Jr., drummer; Darryl “D-Mitch” Mitchell, guitarist; Nathaniel “Krazy Keys” Williams, musician; and Devontay “DMajor” Larry, musician.
“God has blessed us to travel the nation spreading the Gospel of Christ Jesus through song and music,” said Dr. Smith.
“We’ve shared the stage with Le’Andria Johnson, Clinton McFarland, Zacardi Cortez and Tim Rogers as well as graced the Brenda Marsh Mitchell Gospel Stage at the Taste of Soul Family Festival in 2023.”
In 2021, Smith & Sons of Jericho were nominated in four categories of Rhythm of Gospel Awards. The recognition stemmed from their hit single “Ooh Wee Another Blessing.” Also, Dr. Smith was nominated for Traditional Male Vocalist of the Year and in 2022, the group was featured in Voyage L.A. magazine. Currently, the music of Smith & Sons of Jericho is available on all digital platforms.
