Authorities announced a $50,000 reward last week for information that helps solve the killing of a rapper known as “Young B The Future,” who was gunned down in a drive-by shooting in South Los Angeles. The crime occurred on Dec. 8, 2014, about 3:40 p.m. in the 300 block of East 118th Street. Brandon Fields, 26, was walking on the street near his home when he was shot. Two suspects were in a gray 4-door sedan that pulled up alongside Fields, police said. Shots were fired from inside the car, which sped off. Police did not announce a motive for the crime.
“Fields was a talented and well-known `battle rapper,’ known in the music industry as `Young B The Future’, ” a police statement said.
Police announced the reward at a mid-morning news conference at the LAPD’s 77th Street Station. The reward was offered by the Los Angeles City Council for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the suspects. Anyone knowing more about the case was urged to call detectives at (323) 786-5100, or (877) LAPD-247.
