Pastor Benjamin Hollins and the members of Price Chapel African Methodist Episcopal Church will hold a dual celebration observing their 69th Anniversary and Annual Steward Day.

The event takes place on Sunday, September 18, at 10 a.m. and 3:30 p.m., in the edifice located at 4000 West Slauson Ave., in Los Angeles. The theme is “A Day of Celebration.”

During the morning worship, Pastor Hollins will deliver the message and Minister of Music Carl Johnson and the Voices of Price will render selections. Refreshments will be served following the worship.

The Rev. Dr. Francine Brookins, pastor of Bethel AME Church in Fontana, will preach at the afternoon service. Bethel’s choir, ushers and members will accompany her.

The daughter of the late Bishop H.H. Brookins, the Rev. Brookins accepted the call to preach in 1998. She was ordained an itinerant elder in 2002 and served four years as pastor of Wright Chapel AME Church in San Francisco before her appointment to Bethel – Fontana in 2009.Under her leadership, the Bethel congregation has grown spiritually and numerically, and constructed a new building in 2011.The Rev. Brookins received a bachelor’s degree from Georgetown University, J.D. degree from the George Washington National Law Center and Masters of Divinity degree from the Pacific School of Religion.
