The Worship and Arts Ministry of New Mount Calvary Missionary Baptist Church will present “The Christmas Experience Live,” a dramatic reenactment of the birth of Jesus Christ, on Sunday, December 13, at 5 p.m.
Scripture-based story-telling, art and music will highlight the event, followed by a series of live Nativity scenes in front of the campus.
“The Christmas Experience uniquely captures audiences as cast members travel back in time to present the first Christmas,” said Pastor Sonja D. Dawson.
“Attendees will have the opportunity to revisit the story of the angel Gabriel talking with Mary; the holy family traveling to Bethlehem; King Herod on his throne; and angels sharing the news of Christ’s birth with the shepherds in the field.
“In addition, the city of Bethlehem comes to life as attendees watch blacksmiths, carpenters, and Roman soldiers interact in the bustling marketplace,” she said.
The live Nativity scenes will also be staged on Monday, December 14, and Tuesday, December 15, at 7 p.m.
