Marking one of his most consequential and landmark endorsements yet, State Senator Isadore Hall recently secured the sought-after support of Civil Rights icon and legendary U.S. Congressman, John Lewis, in his bid for California’s 44th Congressional District seat.
Nationally recognized and admired for his work as chair of the Student Nonviolent Coordinating Committee (SNCC), one of the “Big Six” leaders of groups who organized the 1963 March on Washington, Congressman Lewis played many significant roles in the Civil Rights movement and its efforts to end legalized racial segregation in America.
Recently Congressman Lewis led an unprecedented and history-making sit-in on the floor of the U.S. House of Representatives to raise awareness about the need for the nation’s legislative body to advance common sense gun safety laws to improve public safety. He currently serves as a Senior Chief Deputy Whip for the Democratic Party in the House.
In making his endorsement public, Congressman John Lewis released the following statement:

His unique experiences as a local and state elected leader combined with his background as a reserve Deputy Sheriff make him exceedingly qualified to serve in the House. I know Isadore Hall will be an effective representative for California’s 44th District and I’m proud to endorse him.”
State Senator Isadore Hall expressed his gratitude for the endorsement by remarking:

Also noteworthy, Senator Hall has won the support of California’s current Governor, Jerry Brown, as well as the state’s Lt. Governor, Gavin Newsom, along with incumbent Congresswoman for the 44th District, Janice Hahn. Senator Hall is also the officially endorsed candidate of the California Democratic Party.
Senator Hall outperformed all 10 candidates in the June 7th primary election. Finishing in first place, Senator Hall netted over 40,000 votes and collected over 40% of total votes cast.
