“How I Got Over: A Celebration of African American Heritage” will be presented on Sunday, March 17, at 5 p.m., at Mount Sinai Church of God in Christ, located at 936 W. 9th St., in Pomona. Bishop Terence and Lady Elizabeth Rhone are the spiritual leaders of Mt. Sinai.

The enlightening play, written and produced by Kosmond Russell, shares little-known facts about Black History.  Russell is an NAACP-award winning playwright who penned “The Message,” “The Visit,” “Labor of Love,” and “The Marriage.”

The cast features Patricia Belcher, Ardelia Rhone, Dan Leech, Jeffrey Sneed, Spoken Word Artist Tammi Ajakwe, K.J. Rasheed, David DesVerney and comedian Honest John. The production also includes music, dancing, drama, and videos.

“This company of 30 performers will celebrate African American history through song, dance, drama, hilarious comedy and gripping video,” said Russell.  “You will leave enlightened, entertained, educated, encouraged and transformed!”
