Scores of students received Bachelor’s, Master’s and Doctorate degrees at the commencement ceremony of More Sure Word Midwest College of Theology and School of Ministry on Sunday, January 15.

The theme of the program was “Equipping the Saints for the Work of the Ministry” based on Ephesians 4:12 and II Timothy 2:2. Under the direction of Dr. King Dale Felton, chancellor and president, scholars were conferred undergraduate and graduate degrees in Biblical Studies and Theology.

The college, which is accredited by the Association of Independent Colleges and Seminaries, offers Associate, Bachelor, Master’s and Doctoral degree programs. Also, an Associate in Drug Intervention Ministry is available as well as various degrees in the field of missions.

Stressing the importance of biblical knowledge, Felton said, “The ‘Spirit of Ignorance’ is more powerful than the weapon of war and mass destruction. The text affirms, ‘my people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou has rejected knowledge’ (Hosea 4:6).

“Ignorance has destroyed dreams, hopes, families and communities. It has killed more than any assault weapon or disease of mankind. More Sure Word College of Theology has been launched for such a time as this, for such a purpose, to eradicate biblical illiteracy.”

Also, attendees heard an inspiring message from the Rev. Dr. Walter R. Tucker III, pastor and founder of Truth and Love Christian Church, who served as the keynote speaker. In addition, uplifting comments were shared by Verrine Lewis, class valedictorian, and Karen Jackson, salutatorian.   Other program participants included Dr. Volneta Felton, Dalecia Felton, Apostle Jean Perez and Pastor Steve Bivens of the Word Centered Fellowship Church.
