James Cleveland “Jesse” Owens was an athlete, he is best remembered for his victories at the 1936 Berlin Olympics. He won gold medals in the long jump, 100 and 200- meter dashes, and the 4×100-meter relay. Owens died in Tucson, AZ, on March 31, 1980.
