The members of Love, Peace and Happiness Family Christian Fellowship plan a series of worship services to honor the decades-long ministry of their pastor and first lady, Bishop Leon and Dr. Jacqueline Martin.
The 43rd Appreciation Services kick-off on Tuesday, October 3, at 7 p.m., at the LPH edifice located at 400 S. Santa Fe Avenue in Compton. The tribute continues on Wednesday, October 4, at 7 p.m., and on Sunday, October 8, at 3:30 p.m., in the LPH sanctuary at 11022 Old River School Road in Downey. The celebration moves to the LPH location at 4951 S. Figueroa St., in Los Angeles on Thursday, October 12, at 7 p.m., and Sunday, October 15, at 3:30 p.m.
Several guest churches will participate in the worship services. They include Pastor Carol Boone-Slack of God’s Tabernacle of Faith, Pastor Curtis Trotter, Feed My Sheep Christian Fellowship, Pastor Donell Givens, Spirit of Truth Fellowship Church, Dr. Zebedee Jackson, New Jerusalem Christian Center, Pastor Rosalyn Beulah, Zion Remnant of God Ministries.
“We, the congregation, would like to show our love and appreciation to the pastor and his wife for serving faithfully and untiringly in the pastoral ministry. Throughout the years that Bishop Leon and Dr. Jacqueline have been in service to our heavenly Father, they have touched so many lives and so many hearts,” said a spokesperson.
“God has truly blessed this congregation with a marvelous couple who has dedicated their lives to stewardship and to His people. We, as a congregation, have been greatly touched by their untiring love and devotion. As we, the congregation, dedicate our lives to Christ, we dedicate our loyalty to them because they have been loyal to us.”
