Local Healthcare Practice Helps Patients Quit Smoking for $10 in honor of lung cancer awareness month

Free treatments on November 19th for the Great American Smokeout

Elements Total Health is honoring Lung Cancer Awareness Month by offering $10 acupuncture treatments all month to help smokers kick the habit and free treatments on November 19th for the Great American Smokeout.

“Quitting smoking is not an easy thing to do, but acupuncture has been proven to reduce the stress and difficulty of quitting and increase the rate of success,” said Roxy Han, certified acupuncturist and co-founder of Elements Total Health, a South Pasadena-based holistic health and wellness practice. “We decided to offer this special in an effort to support the health and well-being of everyone in our community.”

Acupuncture, a common Eastern medicine practice for thousands of years, is the insertion of ultra-thin, sterile needles into specific acupuncture points on the body that reside on meridians-or pathways-in both the exterior and interior of the body. These points are believed to regulate the way in which the body functions and heals itself. Acupuncture has been used to treat hundreds of conditions from chronic pain to the common cold.

The treatment for smoking cessation is relatively simple and painless, typically requiring two to 12 treatments with only six to 12 needles.

“I have seen some heavy smokers quit after just one treatment,” said Han. “Although each person is different, I believe alternative treatments like acupuncture can assist people who desire to give up cigarettes once and for all.”

Located at 1605 Hope Street in South Pasadena, Calif., Elements Total Health provides holistic healing and wellness services to Pasadena and its surrounding communities. The state-of-the-art facility offers the highest quality complimentary health care available in a clean, relaxing and soothing setting. Services include complete chiropractic care, massage, acupuncture and herbal medicine consultations. The clinic isopen Monday through Saturday 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Sunday by appointment only.
