At heritage urban station 102.3 RadioFree KJLH in Los Angeles, we commemorated Black History Month with the KJLH Proven Achievers Honor. During the month of Feburary, we honored individuals from various stations in the community. We believe that many acts of kindness go unrecognized. It’s perceived that these acts are an extension of one’s job. And while we appreciate a professional individual doing their job well, we must look behind the job to the individual and you’ll find character, integrity and passion in their actions.

The KJLH Proven Achievers Honor recognizes those who have ignited inspiration, who have embraced our community with a compassion that sets them apart. While the honorees come from a variety of backgrounds and professions they are effectively making a difference through their unselfish contributions.

The honor unfolded with an audio reflection of each honoree, in their own words, throughout the month of February. The listeners heard vignettes in which the honorees told their story, their influences and motivations. Then, on last week at the elegant LA Hotel in Downtown Los Angeles, KJLH hosted a fantastic luncheon and presented each honoree with a fantastic trophy. RCA Recording artist Mali Music provided a special musical tribute to the honorees.
