Los Angeles Chargers DE Joey Bosa was named the AFC Defensive Player of the Week, the league office announced on Wednesday. The weekly accolade is the first on the season for Bosa.
Bosa continued his tear on getting to the quarterback, sacking Bears QB Mitchell Trubisky twice. It marked his second-straight game with two-plus sacks, making him the first Charger with back-to-back games with at least two sacks since LB Kevin Burnett did so in 2010. Bosa was second on the team with seven tackles and added four tackles for loss and three quarterback hits. The Ohio State product sports seven sacks this season and 35.5 in 43 career games played.
The Chargers host the Green Bay Packers on Sunday, Nov. 3, at Dignity Health Sports Park. The game will kickoff at 1:25 p.m., and air on CBS.
