One of the many perks of living in the Los Angeles area is the amazing array of great music available on any given weekend. And this weekend is no exception. The sensational Eloise Laws is in concert at the Vibrato Grill Jazz, Sunday, May 15, 2016. Laws will perform her new single, “Can’t Let Myself,” during two evening shows at 7P.M. and 9P.M.

Laws is no stranger to the performance stage. A Tony nominee, singer, and entertainer, Eloise is music royalty as she is a member of the sensational Laws family…Hubert, Ronnie, and Debra. Of her new single, “Can’t Let Myself Hurt Myself,” Laws says, “it’s one of the most important songs that she’s ever recorded. This song encourages women to stop hurting themselves and to take responsibility for their lives,” Laws said. “There are roads that I took that were tough, that knocked me down but I got back up. As women, we sometimes hurt ourselves or open ourselves up to hurt from others and we must stop that.”

Laws says “If I can overcome tough times then I want to encourage others that they can as well and this song is a reminder of the strength we have to do just that.” “I want to encourage women to ask for what they want in a relationship, and for their partners to know some of the basics about them…their favorite color…their favorite flower…so that love can flourish.”  Maria Howell, a soloist from the movie, “The Color Purple” will open the evening for Laws.

She also revealed exciting that the Laws Family (Hubert, Ronnie, Eloise, and Debra) have been invited to perform at the upcoming jazz festival in Havana, Cuba in December 2016. Look for that story in an upcoming issue of the Sentinel!
