Jeezy Gets Real with new album Church in These Streets

Atlanta rapper Young Jeezy dropped his new album Church in These Streets on November 13. The album is supported by singles “God”, “Church in These Streets”, “Gold Bottles” and “Sweet Life”, featuring Janelle Monáe. His album landed at #4 on the chart, moving 107,316 total units and selling 98,380 albums. To date, the rapper has had two #1 albums in his decade-long career: 2006’s The Inspiration and 2008’s The Recession.

“It’s a serious album, and I want people to take it seriously. It’s one of those albums that I feel has that type of message in it. It’s not church, per se, but more like people congregating and getting together. This is a certain way of life, and I wanted to come at it from a leader’s perspective like nah, there’s some real things going on out here in the world, and we’re gonna talk about them today—the good, the bad, the ugly. Everything,” he said.

Grammy Award winning, platinum-selling hip-hop trio Naughty By Nature are back in full force, announcing their 25th Anniversary Tour which is set to hit 26 major cities across the U.S. in 2016.

After kicking off the international leg of the tour earlier this month, the group will return to the states on January 27, kicking off in Greensboro, NC.

In 1989 the New Jersey natives took the hip hop scene by storm, originally calling themselves ‘The New Style.’ Comprised of Vin Rock, Treach and DJ Kay Gee, their debut single, “O.P.P” was one of the first rap songs to ever hit #6 on the Billboard Hot 100 and was dubbed one of the 100 best rap singles by The Source.

“The greatest show on earth is not a circus, it’s a Naughty hip-hop circuit,” said Treach. “Get your tickets early! You’ve been warned.” As part of the 25th Anniversary celebration Naughty By Nature is set to release a new EP and documentary.
