Jeezy Gets Real with new album Church in These Streets

Atlanta rapper Young Jeezy dropped his new album Church in These Streets on November 13. The album is supported by singles “God”, “Church in These Streets”, “Gold Bottles” and “Sweet Life”, featuring Janelle Monáe. His album landed at #4 on the chart, moving 107,316 total units and selling 98,380 albums. To date, the rapper has had two #1 albums in his decade-long career: 2006’s The Inspiration and 2008’s The Recession.

“It’s a serious album, and I want people to take it seriously. It’s one of those albums that I feel has that type of message in it. It’s not church, per se, but more like people congregating and getting together. This is a certain way of life, and I wanted to come at it from a leader’s perspective like nah, there’s some real things going on out here in the world, and we’re gonna talk about them today—the good, the bad, the ugly. Everything,” he said.
