Inglewood Mayor James Butts

The following statement is from Inglewood Mayor James Butts on the officers involved in the 2016 officer-involved-shooting of Kisha Michael and Marquintan Sandlin.

“On Friday, May 28, the Inglewood Police Department completed all processes involved in the administrative review of the February 21, 2016 officer-involved-shooting involving Kisha Michael and Marquintan Sandlin.

“The officers involved in the incident are no longer members of the Inglewood Police Department.


“The Department’s report and any discipline that results from the report are confidential.

“At this time, the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office is conducting an independent review focused on law compliance.”
