Homegoing services are scheduled for the Rev. Randy Allison, Jr., pastor of Greater New Unity Baptist Church, who passed away suddenly on April 21. He was 45 years old.
The body of Pastor Allison will lie in state on Friday, May 17, at 3 p.m., at Greater New Unity, 9719 S. Avalon Blvd., in Los Angeles. At 6 p.m., a memorial musical will be held.
A celebration of his life will take place on Saturday, May 18, at 10 a.m., at Citizens of Zion Baptist Church, 12930 S. Lime Street in Compton. The Rev. Bobby Newman is the host pastor.

A native of Los Angeles, Rev. Allison was born on Dec. 21, 1978 to Carol Allison and the late Randy Allison, Sr. He graduated from Washington High School, Grambling State University with a Bachelor’s degree, and Azusa Pacific where he earned a Master’s degree in Pastoral Studies.
Pastor Allison was called to the ministry and preached his first sermon at the age of 16. In 1998, he was licensed to preach and devoted the next 30 years to spreading the Gospel. Rev. Allison was also an accomplished musician as well as possessed many talents that he freely shared with the church. For the past 17 years, he served as spiritual leader of Greater New Unity.
Cherishing his memory are his wife, Tiffany Allison; mother, Carol Allison; sister, Porsche Allison; nephew, Aiden Marin, five godchildren, a host of relatives and the congregation of Greater New Unity Baptist Church.
