“I like to refer to myself as Bash — that’s my brand, my stage name, and my SAG-AFTRA name. It’s who I am,” Sebastian “Bash” Johnson from Detroit, Michigan confidently states.
A seasoned dancer, choreographer, celebrity chef, and creative director, Bash is nothing short of extraordinary. With an ever-growing impressive resume, he has worked with top-tier artists and celebrities while simultaneously building his brand.
A self-taught dancer, Bash has built an illustrious career without the backing of a formal mentor. “I’ve been a professional dancer for 15 years,” he shares.
From choreographing in China to performing and choreographing at a private island resort in the Bahamas, his work has taken him across the world, to dancing for some of the biggest names in music, including Kanye West, Mariah Carey, and Daddy Yankee.

His latest work includes movement coaching for Folake Olowofoyeku, a rising star in Disney’s “Mufasa.”
“She wants the world to fall in love with her music, so I’ve been developing her stage presence and performance,” he explains.

He has also worked with Chxrry22, The Weeknd’s first female XO signee.
“I coached her Vevo performances, making sure she commanded attention,” he reveals.
Dance has been Bash’s foundation since childhood with Michael Jackson as his first inspiration. Now, he channels that obsession into his culinary skills. What started as a passion project during the pandemic has evolved into a full-fledged culinary career. Today, Bash balances choreography, private chef services, catering, artist development, creative direction, and movement coaching.
His transition to celebrity chef began in 2020 during the pandemic. Kimora Lee Simmons tasted his food and hired him on the spot. “That changed everything,” he says. Word spread, and soon, he was cooking for Tamar Braxton, Cardi B’s stylist Kollin Carter, and others.
His culinary expertise has led to exciting opportunities, including pilot projects with Fox for potential cooking shows and a successful pop-up brunch at 1010 Wine, Inglewood’s first Black female-owned wine bar.
“I had 120 reservations, no complaints. It was a success,” Bash says proudly. His catering business continues to grow, with clientele ranging from private yachts in Newport Beach to exclusive Hollywood events.

Beyond dance and food, Bash has achieved notable recognition in acting.
“I just booked a Johnnie Walker and Squid Games commercial with Lil Dicky for a Christmas campaign. I never stop. There’s always something happening,” he says.
Bash’s career spans major entertainment milestones. He performed alongside Zendaya in “The Greatest Showman” live event, captivated audiences on “America’s Got Talent,” and brought his expertise to LA’s public schools as a choreographer. His teaching credits include Hollywood High, Thomas Starr Middle School, and Providence High.
Despite his success, Bash admits that breaking into the Los Angeles dance industry came with its share of hurdles.
“Even though I’ve done all this work, my peers still treat me like an underdog,” he reveals. “I’ve had to prove myself over and over.”
His biggest challenge now? Balancing his expanding career. “I’ve had to learn how to be a business owner on my own. No mentors, just figuring it out,” he says.
Yet, his ambitions remain high. “I want to choreograph a major Vegas residency and build a legacy. And of course, eventually open my own restaurant.”
For 2025, Bash is focused on elevating his brand, expanding his catering business, and mentoring future stars.
“Abundance is the goal,” he declares. If his track record is any indication, he will undoubtedly achieve it.
