We know our miracle cannot eat fiber, right? However, there are key ingredients needed to navigate the path toward reaching your miracle.
Joseph did not know miracles were waiting to happen in his life. He faced tremendous obstacles. When he shared his dreams with his brothers—who were hateful and could not speak kindly to him—he didn’t realize that the way was being paved for his miracle. Joseph was innocent and unaware of the depth of his brothers’ hatred. Who would think that they harbored such diabolical thoughts? Yet, they plotted to murder him.
Joseph would not have imagined that a brighter day was ahead. He was simply obeying his father’s request to check on his brothers tending the flocks. After losing his way, he met someone who directed him to them. But as he approached, his brothers saw “the dreamer” and conspired to kill him out of jealousy for their father’s special love and Joseph’s dreams of superiority.
They kidnapped him and threw him into a pit. Only Reuben and Judah attempted to intervene. Before they could fully execute their plan, Midianite and Ishmaelite traders arrived, capturing Joseph and selling him to Potiphar, an officer of Pharaoh and captain of the Egyptian guard.
One can only imagine what Joseph was thinking. He was young, wise, and steadfast, never hot-tempered or disturbed. Even in hardship, he fed on the “fiber” of unwavering faith. These are the qualities we need as we walk our own paths. We must remember that God is always working things out according to His will and purpose. He will not forget us.
Meanwhile, Joseph’s brothers stripped him of his majestic garment, dipped it in a kid’s blood, and presented it to their father as proof of his supposed death.
Joseph served as a slave without any negative marks against him. Yet, after being falsely accused of rape by Potiphar’s wife, he was thrown into prison, where he remained for more than ten years. During his imprisonment, he met Pharaoh’s chief butler and chief baker, who had committed offenses and were incarcerated with him.
Through divine intervention, Joseph’s miracle drew closer. The butler and baker learned of his gift for dream interpretation. Joseph accurately interpreted their dreams: the butler would be restored to his position, while the baker would be hanged. Before the butler was released, Joseph asked him to remember him. However, the butler forgot until much later, when Pharaoh had troubling dreams.
Because of Joseph’s honorable character, he was freed from prison. He moved even closer to his miracle, becoming head of food distribution during Egypt’s famine. His family eventually relocated, and he rose to the position of governor. Joseph made it clear that his wisdom in dream interpretation was not his own—it was God’s divine guidance.
Joseph remained in his role for many years. His high integrity was unmatched, and neither Potiphar nor Pharaoh worried about mismanagement under his watch. Every challenge, every piece of his journey, played a role in leading him to his miracle.
The bottom line: Do not lose sight of your dream! Do not let impatience, grief, theft, murder, laziness, greed, or any other obstacle destroy your miracle. It is on the way! It may seem impossible, but with God, nothing is impossible.
God does not see as man sees. He wants us to trust Him to lead us to our miracle. He says, “Ask, and it shall be given.” So don’t give up. Have faith. Walk on water with Him. Calm the raging sea with Him. See the invisible through the visible.
