The Derf Reklaw Arts and Heritage Organization will present The Derf Reklaw Experience on Saturday, July 29, at 3:30 p.m., at the World Stage, 4321 Degnan Blvd., in the Leimert Park neighborhood of Los Angeles.
The Derf Reklaw Experience, featuring emcee Albert Lord, vice president of Community Build, Inc., is the organization’s highly anticipated inaugural fundraising event. With support from the City of Los Angeles, the organization will salute community organizers who work tirelessly to preserve Leimert Park’s rich artistic history and musical traditions.
Attendees will enjoy an afternoon of live music, dance performances, spoken word, and a tribute to the late jazz great, Derf Reklaw. Honorees include Dwight Trible, Kamau Daaood, Jai Jae Kabasa, Rene Fisher Mims, Nzingha Camara, Ben Caldwell, and Sika Dwimfo. Additional honorees include S.H.I.N.E. Muwasi, Don Littleton, and Munyungo Jackson.

According to a spokesperson, the Derf Reklaw Arts and Heritage organization is committed to preserving the vibrant, artistic traditions of the Leimert Park community and the surrounding areas. Inspired by the legacy of Derf Reklaw, the organization aims to sustain visual and performing arts by investing in the next generation of budding artists by way of scholarships and platform building to facilitate opportunities for local artists.
