“What an honor it is to be recognized by the party that upholds the same value system that I have carried over the last three decades of service,” Price said.
“This acknowledgment isn’t just a personal achievement; it reflects the collective efforts of countless individuals who have tirelessly fought for justice, equity, and opportunity in our communities.”
Price has led efforts to raise wages for hotel workers and fought for L.A.’s historic $15 minimum wage increase. His support for the Ban the Box ordinance assists individuals with criminal records to secure meaningful employment. In addition, he was the architect behind the nation’s largest Guaranteed Basic Income program — a first-of-its-kind $40 million pilot that provided critical assistance to more than 3,200 families in the City of LA.
Del Richardson Price was celebrated for her contributions to the Black and Brown community. With over 35 years of service, she has established herself as a pioneering businesswoman, dedicated philanthropist, and passionate advocate for the arts and education. Her leadership in affordable housing development has yielded innovative solutions that significantly enhance the quality of life for communities of color.
