There are car clubs spanning every inch of asphalt to the beginning of the oceans. All are unique in their own subtle way. One club in particular that I have a vast amount of knowledge about is Corvette of Choice.
Corvette of Choice was established in 2005 by a few corvette owners who wanted to share their love and enthusiasm for such a remarkable vehicle; they started to approach and recruit individuals with the same ideology.
Hence, the club consists of more than thirty active members and more than eighty members who signed up via the online application from different parts of the country.
The members are comprised of a multitude of different backgrounds but all share the same overwhelming desire; to help those who are less fortunate than others. Some members have retired from their perspective work positions while others continue to work the nine to five routine. Positions include but are not limited to: teachers, mta drivers, construction workers, postal workers, aircraft personnel, auto mechanics, security enforcement, day care provider, fire fighters, and real-estate agents.
Corvette of Choice mission is to be involved in making a difference in the community.
Some of the endeavors of the club since its inception are as follows:
Purchased and delivered bedding, clothing and toiletry supplies to the battered women’s shelter. Thanksgiving donations, complete turkey dinners to ten families for “Justice for Murdered Children”. Back to school supplies giveaway (backpacks loaded with all the essential materials needed to begin the new school year). Support the Mablean Ephriam Foundation by purchasing Christmas gifts for underprivileged children and delivering them to a designated location.
Donate a cash gift to five needy families during the holiday season. Visit and provide necessary supplies to residents of convalescent homes.
Participate in local parades where candy and gifts are handed out. Take rides through the community to bring awareness to issues such as; breast cancer, homelessness, education and other significant matters that can and have altered the lives of so many families. These are just some of the activities that Corvette of Choice has been committed to.
Corvette of Choice dedication and devotion over the years has become a beacon of hope and determination in the community, only to be surpassed by their desire to succeed.
