The Los Angeles Chargers re-signed tight end Jeff Cumberland to a one-year contract, the team announced Wednesday.

The 6-4, 260-pound eighth-year player out of Illinois is looking to bounce back after suffering a season-ending Achilles injury during the Chargers’ second preseason game in 2016.

Cumberland originally signed with the Chargers in 2016 after spending his first six NFL seasons with the New York Jets where he played in 65 career games, catching 86 passes for 1,119 yards and 10 touchdowns.
