Baptist Ministers Conference of LA and Southern California observes President’s Day on March 14, at 11 a.m., at Southern St. Paul Church, 4278 W. Adams in Los Blvd., in Los Angeles. The event celebrates the re-election and installation of President Xavier Thompson, pastor of Southern St. Paul.

Hays Tabernacle CME Church hosts the Los Angeles District Love Feast on March 13, at 4 p.m., at 10121 South Central Avenue in Los Angeles, said Presiding Elder and Pastor Mark Hardin. The guests will be Pastor Jennifer Gutteriez and the members of St. John United Methodist Church. The public is invited to attend.


Ward AME Church hosts a free forum on wrongful convictions on March 17, at 6:30 p.m., at 1177 W. 25th St., in Los Angeles. The Legal Redress Committee of the National Association for Equal Justice in America sponsors the event. The participants are Michael S. Jones and representatives from the U.S. Attorney’s Office, the State Attorney General’s Office, the District Attorney’s Wrongful Convictions Unit and a private attorney. Christ Our Redeemer A.M.E. Church co-hosts “The Dancer In Me Sacred Arts & Music Training Institute on March 18-20, said Pastor Mark Whitlock and Rev. Stephanie Adams, co-host.
