Crossroads United Methodist Church sponsors a legal clinic on June 24, at 9 a.m., at 2354 N. Wilmington Ave., in Compton, said Pastor Adrienne Zackery. Attorneys from the Legal Aid Foundation of Los Angeles will provide assistance with criminal record expungement petitions, Prop 47 petitions and Prop 64 applications. Ward AME Church features local and well-known artists at the “Smooth Jazz on 25th & Magnolia” on June 24, at 3 p.m., at 1177 W. 25th St., in Los Angeles, said Pastor John E. Cager III. The Artishia Wilkerson Jordan Women’s Missionary Society sponsors the event. Roslyn Jones is the WMS president. Jacob Lusk of “American Idol,” Chosen Recovery Group Singers, Underwater Traffic, and Fernando Pullum’s Performing Arts Center will perform and Charles Lemle will serve as emcee. Long Beach Ministers Alliance plays opposite members of the Long Beach Police Department in a charity basketball game on June 24, at 6 p.m., at Cabrillo High School, 2001 Santa Fe Blvd., in Long Beach, said the Rev. Westwood Presbyterian Church presents Ludwig van Beethoven’s “Mass in C Major, Op. 86” on June 25, at 5 p.m., at 10822 Wilshire Blvd., in Los Angeles. Under the direction of conductor Maria Newman, featured vocal soloists soprano Christina Borgioli, mezzo soprano Nandani Maria Sinha, tenors Larry Duplechan and Scott Noonan, and baritone Matthew Lewis will join the Westwood Master Choir and Chamber Symphony in performing the Mass.
