Congregational Church of Christian Fellowship sponsors “A Joyful, Joyful Old Fashioned Dessert Walk and Bake Sale” on Dec. 11, following the 11 a.m. service at 2085 Hobart Blvd., Los Angeles, said Pastor James Knight and Lura Daniel-Balls, Sisters In Christ coordinator. A variety of cookies, cakes, cupcakes, and pies along with free seasonal beverages and a cookie decorating station will be available.

Greater Emmanuel Missionary Baptist Church plans their Mass Choir Winter Service on Dec 11, at 2 p.m., at 3727 W. 111th Pl., in Inglewood, said Pastor Harold L. Mitchell. Aundre Russell, KJLH Radio program director and host of “Spread the Word” gospel program, will be honored.

Word of Life Christian Bookstore is collecting new pairs of socks for convalescent patients and the homeless. The campaign, which continues until Dec. 17, will assist Hyde Park Convalescent, Lotus Care Center, Help the Homeless Ministry and New Salvation Ministries. Helen Diller Family Foundation is accepting nominations for the 2016 Diller Teen Tikkun Olam Awards for California teens. The $36,000 awards are given annually to up to 15 volunteers.  The deadline for nominations is Dec. 18. For information, visit
