Golden State Order of the Eastern Star, Prince Hall Rite of Adoption State of California sponsors “Extraordinary Women That Rock” on April 22, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., at the Double Tree by Hilton, 21333 Hawthorne Blvd., in Torrance, said 2017 Grand Worthy Matron Meredith Y. Bell and Most Worshipful Grand Master, the Honorable Dr. Donald R. Ware and Grand Worthy Patron Willie James Adams III. The donation is $55. Parking is free. The public is welcome to attend.

Brookins-Kirkland Community AME Church honors retired Bishop T. Larry Kirkland and retired Supervisor Mary L. Kirkland on April 23, at 9 a.m., at 3719 W.
