The Clippers battled back on Sunday from a 17 point deficient to beat the Cavs, 108-78, liked they owned them. In fact they did! Blake Griffin (23), Jamal Crawford (13) and DeAndre Jordan (13) knocked the Cavs off the court like they owned them! They did! And the beat continues!
Madison Keys competed in the Indian Wells Tennis Open. Donald Young played in the men’s division. Young won his third match vs. Lucas Pouille, 6-4, 1-6, 6-3. His next scheduled match was vs. Nishikor. Blake Griffin declared: “It’s a different game without LeBron and Kyrie and Kevin playing…We are not going to pretend like it’s not.” The Cavs headed by their leader, LeBron James et al were only observers. Comments: In my estimation players shouldn’t play when they are sick, injured or for some personal reasons. Some experts claim missing games will cost LeBron James the MVP! It could!
Mrs. Margaret Hernandez and her husband Charles Taylor have been suffering a lifetime since their son Rico Harris has been missing from their Alhambra home since October 2014. If anybody knows anything about where he might be please call the LAPD. Harris mother says: “This is a pain that goes down in your core. It’s like you’re on a merry go round and you can’t get off…….He could be alive. May be he’s not. I don’t know what the truth is……People don’t just vanish.”
The Russell Westbrook needed 13 triple doubles to break Oscar Robertson’s all-time record. Westbrook needs only 34 to break the Thunder’s standard. It’s going to be hard for not to vote for Westbrook for NBA MVP honors. Reason: He impresses me more than on his all-around triple-double play. Westbrook should move ahead of Oscar Robertson as the all-time single season standard bearer.
When Oscar Robertson was flipping basketballs into baskets in the late 50s there weren’t as many black people sitting in the pews and pulpits of White churches as there are on Sunday morning. Nor were there as many Blacks playing basketball in high schools, colleges or in the pros.

But, the Trojans fell to Baylor 82-78 in the second round.

Kansas’s Josh Jackson could be the best NBA recruit in the NCAA Playoffs. Going into a Sweet 16 round, Jackson was averaging 16 points and 7.1 rebounds per outing. There are a lot of pickers who will select Josh Jackson no matter if the sun doesn’t rise tomorrow.
Gale Sayers was one of the greatest Chicago Bears running backs of all time, is suffering from dementia. Sayers’ wife Ardythe announced his dementia illness this week. Sayers’ wife blamed his football career for his condition. Sayers is 73.
