Rev. Xavier Thompson 

The Rev. Dr. Jamal Bryant will address the Baptist Ministers’ Conference of Los Angeles and Southern California (BMC) on Monday, January 19, at 11 a.m., at Mount Moriah Baptist Church, 4269 South Figueroa Street in Los Angeles.

According to the Rev. Xavier Thompson, BMC president, Dr. Bryant will share insight and reflections at the organization’s Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day Celebration.

“Dr. Bryant is nationally known for his efforts to redefine ministry for the 21st century. He has been incredibly successful with his campaign to spread the Gospel and revive social activism among the Generation X, Y and Millenniums,” said President Thompson.

“We encourage clergy and laity of all faiths to join us as we honor Dr. King and hear a powerful message from Dr. Bryant.”

The pastor and founder of Empowerment Temple A.M.E. Church in Baltimore, Dr. Bryant led a congregation that increased from 43 people to 12,000 since opening in 2000. Previously, he served six years as the national youth and college director for the NAACP.

A graduate of Morehouse College, he earned a Masters of Divinity at Duke University and a doctorate from The Graduate Theological Foundation.
