Bishop Clement W. Fugh, presiding prelate of the 5th Episcopal District of the AME Church, revealed several new pastoral appointments for 2022-2023 at the close of the 98th Session of the Southern California Annual Conference on Oct. 24.

Also, the Rev. John E. Cager III, pastor of Ward AME-L.A., was promoted to presiding elder of the Midwest North District supervising 22 churches in Kansas and Nebraska. Both the Rev. Roosevelt Lindsey, presiding elder of the L.A. South-Las Vegas District, and the Rev. Dr. Allen Williams, presiding elder of the L.A. North District, were reappointed to their positions

Godfrey Patterson to Allen Chapel AME-Riverside, the Rev. Martin C. Porter II to A.K. Quinn-Moreno Valley, the Rev. Mercedes Tudy-Hamilton to Cain Memorial AME-Bakersfield, the Rev. Larry Holloway to Johnson Chapel AME-Santa Ana, the Rev. Patricia Freeman to Johnson Chapel AME-El Centro, and the Rev. DeJeanne Taylor to First AME-Indio.

Reappointments included the Rev. J. Edgar Boyd to First – L.A., the Rev. Dr. Kelvin Calloway to Bethel – L.A., the Rev. Dr. Mary Minor to Brookins-Kirkland-L.A., the Rev. Michael Eagle to Grant-Long Beach, the Rev. Dwaine Jackson to Bryant Temple – L.A., the Rev. Joyce Kitchens to Emmanuel-Turner – L.A., the Rev. Marvin McKenzie to Walker Temple – L.A., the Rev. Carolyn Baskin-Bell to First AME – Santa Monica, the Rev. Darryl Walker to New Philadelphia – Long Beach, and the Rev. Dr. Ralph Williamson to Christ Our Redeemer – Irvine.
