First AME Church of Los Angeles hosted the city’s African American Heritage Month Worship Service on Feb. 3. The celebration included at salute to members of the California State Senate.

Attendees included Bishop T. Larry Kirkland, Episcopal Supervisor Mary L. Kirkland, Mayor Eric Garcetti, County Supervisor Mark Ridley-Thomas, Assemblymember Sebastian Ridley-Thomas, Councilman Curren Price, LAPD Assistant Chief Earl Paysinger and many city commissioners and community leaders.
