On the night of the election, I did not go to any of the watch parties because I didn’t want to get caught up in all that emotion, I wanted to keep my thinking cap on. Like the majority of Black people, I was hopeful that our dear sister would win, but I made it a priority to keep my feelings in check, not allowing myself to get too high or too low regardless of what the outcome would be.
Yes, like many of you I was hopeful that America wouldn’t show up, but she did. I can hear some of you asking, what the hell are you talking about Tony Wafford? I am so glad you asked.
Unless you’re suffering from historical amnesia, America was founded on genocide. Let me share the definition with you, “Genocide is violence that targets individuals because of their membership of a group and aims at the destruction of a people.” Like it or not, that’s what’s in the marrow of America.
If you think I’m overreacting, you ask the indigenous people of this land known to us as Native Americans. they know firsthand what it means to deal with a so called American. I can hear some of you now, “what are you talking about? America gave us the first Black President, Barack Obama.” And that was good but is it really that remarkable to pick the best person for a job; and Obama was clearly the best person.
What I am so very proud of is that we, Black people, supported our dear sister contrary to what mainstream (White) media and total BS social media sites saying that Black men were not in support of VP Kamala Harris. Sure, we all know a number of chain hugging Negroes that were in support of their oppressor, but among Black people they were the exception and clearly not the rule.
That’s right, Black men voted 77% in favor of Kamala, Trump only received 1% more of the Black male vote than he got the last time he ran. I don’t know about you, but I’m proud of what Black men did to support our sister, and social media, white media or house negros aren’t going to fool me into perpetuating Black male pathology. Black women voted 91% in favor of her.
Now let’s talk about who really chose (elected) Barabbas (Trump) because it wasn’t us. You do know that 60% of white men voted for Trump, is anybody surprised that the average White man would rather collaborate with a psychotic White man than a sensible sane Black woman? After all that female unity talk, Roe v Wade, grabbing you by your genitals total disregard and disrespect for women regardless of their culture, White women showed up just as that. How else can you explain 53% of White women voting for Donald Trump? It’s not about their crotch, it’s about their culture. They’re white first.
Now let’s address this so-called Black Brown unity thing. It seems to me whenever I hear the words Black Brown unity, it’s always coming from the mouth of a Black person. Latino men voted 55% in favor of Trump. You may ask yourselves how in the hell can that be. Well it’s like this – we’ve got Oreos, and they’ve got Coconuts.
Black people, trust me, the sky is not going to fall over these next four years! These devils are going to do all they can to make life miserable for the most vulnerable (Black, white and Brown) in this nation, but haven’t they always done that? The greater question is how are we going to respond?
The first thing we are going to see is some major white-on-white crime! They’re going to do all that they can to savage one another and get those normal whites to fall in line. Then they’re going to start to dismantle any and everything that’s in place to support the most vulnerable in this country. Oh, sure it’s gonna hurt some white people, but they’re just going to be collateral damage in the big scheme of things.
What I’m going to do is what Dr. Maulana Karenga says, I’m going to use my culture as both a resource and a reference to guide me through these next four years. I would also encourage you to think about our history. Think about all the things that we’ve come through to be where we are today. We defied unbelievable odds. We did it before and we can do it again.
You know the great Honorable Marcus Mosiah Garvey once said, “As humans have done humans can do.” They couldn’t stop us then and they damn sho can’t stop us now!
