Heather Hutt is who I trust to make a real difference in the quality of life in the 10th District.
In a significant endorsement that underscores her dedication to the city and its future, Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass has officially thrown her support behind Heather Hutt’s campaign for City Council. In her endorsement, Mayor Bass, expressed her confidence in Hutt’s ability to bring positive change to the city.
“Heather Hutt is who I trust to make a real difference in the quality of life in the 10th District,” said Mayor Bass. “She grew up and raised her family here and she will be the partner I will work with to improve parks and youth programs. Heather will also provide support for small businesses that are the economic backbone of the district.”
Heather Hutt has already gained considerable support for her campaign. In addition to Bass, she is endorsed former mayor Antonio Villaraigosa and by numerous current and former city council members including:

The 10th council district of Los Angeles includes the communities of Arlington Heights, Baldwin Village, Baldwin Hills, Crenshaw, Jefferson Park, Koreatown, Leimert Park, Mid-City, Olympic Park, Palms, South Robertson, West Adams, West Pico and Wilshire Center.
Born and raised in the 10th council district, Heather Hutt has dedicated her life to public service and standing up for her community. She has an unrivaled record of fighting for residents, small businesses, civil rights, and the resources residents need to thrive.
Hutt served as then U.S. Senator Kamala Harris’ State Director, making her the first Black U.S. Senate State Director in California’s history. Before her work in the U.S. Senate, Heather championed environmental justice policy changes for Watts and South Los Angeles, launched the “VOTE LA“ campaign, LA Cities Clean Air-Clean Water campaign, and shaped critical outreach to pass the “Durbin Bill” which provided aid for small businesses. Heather has been a passionate advocate and organizer for marginalized communities.
Heather is the first Black woman to be appointed to the Los Angeles City Council. Since her appointment, she has worked tirelessly to deliver both on the progressive policies to better LA, but also the nuts and bolts needs of LA, like planting trees, fixing sidewalks, and building and maintaining parks and youth programs.
