Scriptures: Isaiah 58:1-12 and Mark 8:22-26

When America frees itself from the entrapment of denial, hypocrisy, triple standards, forked-tongue diplomacy, and deliberately and decisively choose to “loose the chains of racial, social and economic injustice and untie the cords of this yoke, set the oppressed free and break every yoke, America’s trajectory may be diverted from going to hell.

In the words of Dr, King, “(though) there is such a thing as being too late in history with the right answers…the time is always right to do what is (righteous). Then America, will your trajectory be recalculated, “your light will rise in the darkness, and your night will become like the noonday.

“(Then) the Lord will guide you always; he will satisfy your needs in a sun-scorched land and will strengthen your frame. (America,) you will be like a well-watered garden, like a spring whose waters never fail. Your people will rebuild the ancient ruins and will raise up the age-old foundations; you will be called Repairer of Broken Walls, Restorer of Streets with Dwellings.” Until then, “America May STILL God to Hell.”

As a proud South African, who felt well represented at the International Criminal Court in The Hague, we, who “are caught in an inescapable network of mutuality, tied in a single garment of destiny,” pray to the Lord to not be too late with the right attitude, answers, and actions to bend the moral arc of history towards a destiny characterized by beloved community.

To organize and bend the moral arc towards true Ubuntu!! To mobilize and bend the moral arc towards God’s beloved world house, where we shall greet each other, Sawubona!! – I see your humanity and dignity intertwined with the integrity of all creation – and ask, “How are the children?”

We are the peace-loving soulforce we’ve been waiting for. Let’s keep our hands on the plow and continue to face the rising sun!

Blessed 95th birthday, Dr. King!!! You will only rest in peace when we allow your power to rise in and through each one of us to organize and mobilize, be and become the soulforce that continues to realize and catalyze God’s beloved world house!
