The West Adams Block Party (WABP) was established in 2017 to unite the community and support local art, culture, youth, and small businesses. The event also invests in educational programming for local youth through strategic partnerships with Los Angeles institutions and by donating to programs such as the Fernando Pullum Community Arts Center.
All artists that join the party help to raise funds for the different community programs. This year, 30% of the proceeds from hospitality will be donated to after-school programs in Los Angeles County.
Neecole Cockerham, the West Adams Block Party founder was ecstatic about the 2023 event and said, “We are back and going back to our roots – back to the original spirit of the block party to benefit the community. Yes, there will be amazing performers, great local food, and fun for the kids. But we also have a focus on health and wellness, a job fair, and other needed resources.”
