The WNBA announced today that LA Sparks forward Nneka Ogwumike was named Western Conference Player of the Week for games played between May 29-June 4. This is her 14th time winning the award, passing Brittney Griner and Sylvia Fowles to have the 10th most player of the week honors.

Last week, Ogwumike posted back-to-back double-doubles to lead the Sparks to a 2-0 record with victories over the Phoenix Mercury and the Seattle Storm. For the week, she averaged 24 points, five assists, 13 rebounds, and one steal, and shot 15-for-29 (51.7%) from the field over two games. As she led the Sparks to the June 2 win over the Mercury, Ogwumike grabbed her 493rd career steal, passing Lisa Leslie (492) for the most in Sparks franchise history and 18th overall in league history.

Nneka is currently leading the team in points (20.3) and rebounds (8.8) per game, ranking 8th in the WNBA in both categories.

She is currently one block away from being the 10th WNBA player in league history with 5,000+ points, 2,000+ rebounds, 450+ steals, and 200+ blocks.

The Sparks face the Seattle Storm today at 7:00 p.m. at Climate Pledge Arena.
