Representative Karen Bass’ mayoral campaign released  its first-ever television advertising spot, featuring 30 seconds of the candidate summarizing her pitch to voters, on Monday, May 9. The new ad, entitled “Get It Done”, which will air on cable in the Los Angeles media market, is backed by a $650,000 buy from the campaign. The spot builds on weeks of growing momentum for the Bass campaign, which recently secured the coveted endorsement of the Los Angeles Times.

“When I worked in the E.R. during the crack epidemic, there was no time to hesitate; we had to act to save lives,” says Karen Bass in the new spot. “That’s the urgency that I brought as Assembly Speaker, making tough decisions to save our state’s economy, and help the people behind the numbers. In Congress, it fueled my work to win pandemic relief for small businesses. And now, I’m running for mayor to meet today’s challenges.”

The advertisement demonstrates Rep. Bass’ experience leading in crisis. It also shows her working with President Biden and highlights the endorsement by the Los Angeles Times mentioned above.

When I worked in the E.R. during the crack epidemic, there was no time to hesitate; we had to act to save lives.

That’s the urgency that I brought as Assembly Speaker, making tough decisions to save our state economy, and help the people behind the numbers.

In Congress, it fueled my work to win pandemic relief for small businesses. And now, I’m running for mayor to meet today’s challenges: crime, homelessness, and the soaring cost of housing.

I’m Karen Bass and I always run toward a crisis to get the job done for you.
