A 22-year-old man was sentenced today to life in prison without the possibility of parole for his role in the killing of a 67-year-old woman a year ago, the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office announced.

James Wesley Trotter, aka Man-Man of Long Beach, was found guilty on Aug. 15 of one count each of murder with a special circumstance allegation of murder during the commission of a robbery; second-degree robbery; and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

Devon T. White, 21, of Lynwood also was found guilty of the same charges. He was sentenced on Aug. 29 to life in prison without the possibility of parole.

A third co-defendant, Tonaye Eunice James (dob 8/9/95) of Las Vegas, pleaded no contest on July 31 to one count of second-degree robbery and was sentenced on Sept. 5 to 12 years in state prison.

Deputy District Attorneys David Ayvazian and Carmelia Mejia of the Hardcore Gang Division prosecuted the case.

White and Trotter followed victim Hye Soon Oh from her business in Lynwood to her apartment complex in Montrose on Aug. 8, 2017, the prosecutors said. The victim was then gunned down and robbed at her apartment building’s parking garage, the prosecutor added.

Case GA101707 was investigated by the Glendale Police Department.
