The 2016 reigning WNBA Champion Los Angeles Sparks Organization and Celebrity Judges are gearing up to select the Entertainment Crews for the upcoming season. The event is free to the public and takes place on Saturday, April 22, 2017, 1:00 – 5:30 p.m. on Universal CityWalk, which is adjacent to Universal Studios Hollywood, located at 100 Universal City Plaza, Universal City, CA 91608. Auditions and check-in will take place at the “5 Towers” Plaza on CityWalk, near the Universal Cinema.
“Our Entertainment Crews give our organization home court advantage each game. These immensely talented professionals are energetic and passionate about dance,” said LA Sparks President & COO, Christine Simmons. “They are under the direction of our well-known Entertainer Director’s that have worked with the likes of Prince, Mariah Carey, Nicki Minaj and Beyoncé. This caliber level talent of these Crews are in addition to the championship level basketball makes Sparks games THE choice for summer family entertainment.”
More than 150 dancers auditioned for the competition to earn a spot on this season’s Entertainer Crews. Everyone is encouraged to join the fun and help Celebrity Judges to select this year’s Crews- SparKids, Sparks Crew and Ole Skool Crew. The Crews will perform at home games and events during the upcoming 2017 Los Angeles Sparks basketball season.
The 2017 Sparks regular season will tip-off May 13 at 2pm, presented by EquiTrust. The opening week will feature the Championship Celebration.
