
The 2022 Bounce Trumpet Award took place at The Dolby Theater (6801 Hollywood Blvd, Hollywood, CA 90028) in Hollywood on April 23rd, 2022. ‘
The 30th Anniversary Bounce Trumpet Awards featured a tribute to The Warriors of Justice honoring those institutions and their leaders who have been on the front lines fighting for social, political, legal, educational, and economic equality for people of color. The group includes Rainbow PUSH Coalition Founder/President Rev. Jesse Jackson, NAACP President/CEO Derrick Johnson, National Urban League President/CEO Marc Morial, and Southern Christian Leadership Conference (SCLC) President/CEO Dr. Charles Steele, Jr.

The Bounce Trumpet Awards were originally conceived to recognize the outstanding accomplishments of African Americans and those who have succeeded against great odds and inspired success in others. Founded in 1992 by American Civil Rights leader Xernona Clayton, The Trumpet Awards were acquired by Bounce in 2016.

The list of prestigious honorees includes Muhammad Ali, Beyoncé, Jamie Foxx, Halle Berry, Stevie Wonder, The African American Women of the U.S. Congress, Steve Harvey, Martin Luther King, III, Janelle Monáe, and Spike Lee.
The 2022 annual awards event celebrated Black Excellence with honorees and presenters, including Rev. Jesse Jackson, Courtney B. Vance, Stan Lathan, Princess Sarah Culberson, Zaila Avant-Garde, Caroline Wanga, Xerona Clayton, and more.

Presenters and special attributes were also included during the awards. Accolades were given to Tamron Hall, Xerona Claton, Caroline Wanga, Wendell Pierce, Sanaa Lathan, and others.
Dru Hill, Mary Mary, Tank, PJ Morton, Avery Wilson, and many more provided musical entertainments for the audience.

Produced by Magic Lemonade Production Company, the gala event will be televised on Bounce, the nation’s popular entertainment television network dedicated to serving African Americans. The 30th Anniversary Bounce Trumpet Awards is set to air on Juneteenth, Sunday, June 19th at 7 p.m. EST.
