Trudy Anise Parks
Trudy Anise Parks, born August 2, 1964, in Los Angeles, California to Bernard C. Parks and Carolyn Fuqua. She graduated from Saint Mary’s Academy High School and Summa Cum Laude from the University of Nevada-Las Vegas, receiving her Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Recreation and Leisure.
For the last four years, Trudy has run a group home for under-privileged youth. Her organization, Next Step: Xposure to Life, was founded at the Lori Renee House in Las Vegas. The purpose and uniqueness of the program was to expose youth to a variety of life skills and increase their understanding of the fundamentals of independent living.
Above anything else, Trudy was a mother. She had four children, who all are reflections of her. In Gabryelle, Trudy in many ways had a carbon copy. From head to toe, the resemblance is unmistakable. But, the most important trait that Gabryelle shares with her mother is her good-natured spirit and loving heart.
In Nick, you will find Trudy’s intellectual and ambitious side. Her sensitivity, work ethic and (frequently bizarre) sense of humor are all found in Nick… Not to mention their shared compulsive obsession with the Lakers.
August displays his “Trudiness” in his name itself. August is the birth month that mother and son share. And, there was no one prouder of being a Leo than Trudy. It is said that Leos are creative and strong willed, which were prominent traits found in Trudy. And, August has inherited those same tools. For those unfortunate enough not to meet Trudy…meet August.
Zack gives you a glimpse of Trudy’s tendency to be spontaneous. To truly be spontaneous is to have the complete personal freedom that Trudy routinely enjoyed and Zack aspires to nurture and enjoy.
In addition to her children, Trudy also has an army of foster children that she’s impacted positively and who love her very much. They too, are reflections of her and already deeply miss Miss Trudy.
Trudy is survived by her daughter, Gabryelle; sons Nick, August and Zack; parents Bernard C. Parks and Carolyn Fuqua; Stepmother Bobbie Parks; Grandmothers Gertrude Parks and Leola Williams; brothers Kevin and Bernard, Jr.; sisters Felicia, Michelle, Lana, Kelly and Nikki; nephews Christopher, Cameron, Ahmed, Jah’son, Cherokee; nieces Deianna, Alese, Brielle and Hanaa’; cousins Michael, Lisa, Waymond, Winford, Winston, Lonnie, Kim, Dana, Brian, Brooklyn, Brandon, Billy, Stacy, Chad and a host of other relatives and loved ones.
Trudy Anise Parks died August 21, 2010, but her spirit will live on with every smile, every idea, every dance, every hug and every laugh.
